The squad goes after Tyrone Weeks and Patricia Spence, a couple arrested on drug charges. When Tyrone is set free due to overcrowding of the L.A. prison, LaRusso and Potts have to track him down. Meanwhile, Patricia, desperate for drug money, sells her infant daughter.
The squad has to deal with the fallout surrounding Tyrone Weeks' suspicious death. During questioning, Ralph lies that the forensic report supports LaRusso's story. Meanwhile, Hollander assigns Gaines as Frank's new partner and Donnie tells Vincent that he no longer wants to be partners with him.
When Potts and LaRusso are taken off of a drug case, LaRusso goes behind the squad's back and sets up his own bust with help from his girlfriend.

Rose has to take down a bigoted detective in response to the shooting of a black youth. Meanwhile, Potts begins to second-guess his willingness to testify and the Chief lands himself in hot water after having some choice words for the press.
