Eileen Grimshaw has been waiting for weeks to get her mitts on Ed – and it seems next week she finally does!
And why not for goodness sake? She lost out in the Phil battle to the strong force of Gail Platt so it’s only right that she finally gets her man.
While Eileen knows that Ed has had a shady past, she’s quite willing to forget that.
“Eileen sees a reformed character,” actress Sue Cleaver tells us. “All she knows at the moment is that he’s had a past, he’s been in prison, but he’s served his time and he’s changed his life around.”
Of course, she has no idea of his crime, only that she quite fancies the cute fella.
“He’s warm and gentle, just a nice guy,” Sue gushes. “He’s a bit of a cheeky chappy, she enjoys his company and she finds him attractive.
“She’s enjoying the attention after the knock back from Phil, it’s a welcome distraction for her.”
Up until now, Ed has avoided her advances, but as Sue says, he can only resist Eileen for so long.
“She’s tried every trick in the book to bed him, but he says he wants to wait because of his beliefs,” Sue sighs.
“He says he wants them to have a future together and he doesn’t want to rush it so it can be special.
“But I don’t think he’ll be able to resist her for much longer! She’s downright outrageous – she invites him round for a meal and makes sure all the others are out.”
The truth about Ed’s shady past is sure to come out sooner rather than later. Will Eileen stand by her man?
“I don’t know how she’ll respond,” Sue admits. “It depends how long they’ve been together and if they’ve consummated their relationship.”
We’ll just have to sit back and wait then viewers!
