A moving tower starts shooting cannon balls that turn everybody green and unhappy. A person named Dr. Zalost that's green and always unhappy is shooting them. He demands money from the mayor and gets it but is not satisfied so he continues firing the cannon balls. Meanwhile at the Bagges' house Muriel is making happy plums that are said to make people happy no matter what. Dr. Zalost hits the Bagges' house with a cannon ball and it hits Muriel. Courage manages to get in the tower but gets captured. Dr. Zalost says if he can win a game of hangman he will let him free. He wins but recaptures him and is going to shoot him with a cannon ball. Courage throws a happy plum at the cannon balls and reverses their effect and everybody goes back to normal.
