Richard encounters an old rival when interviewing chefs. Meanwhile, Spike journeys to Canada for a family wedding, yet his mother fumes when he arrives late; Jen prepares for a baseball-theme charity event; and Fabio's mother pays a visit and gives him pointers on how he should live his life.
Fabio flies to New York for a TV appearance, and Richard cooks at a food event before dining with chefs Carla Hall, Angelo Sosa and Dale Talde. Also: Jen and Spike take a road trip, yet this flirty duo may become more than just culinary colleagues.
A rattled Richard hosts a menu tasting for his choosy partners. Meanwhile, Fabio hopes to tap into his own martini product, and Spike and Jen finish their road trip with some oyster farming. Later, Spike scouts for a bistro location, and Jen tries to impress investors.
