Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs is a documentary series which follows the popular comedian as he follows the work of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London. He talks to the staff involved in treating, training and rehoming the different animals.

Paul meets a Yorkshire terrier named Tyler, a puppy named Patrick who has a nasty and very unusual injury, and Mimi, a 12-week-old Shih Tzu.
Paul meets mother and daughter Staffies Bella and Missy who have been inseparable since Missy was born. They’ve been bought to Battersea because their owner has fallen ill but the bond between them is so strong that vet Phil confirms they must be rehomed together. Three-month old, mastiff pups Una, Dots and Tresaare also looking for homes. A scared little Jack Russell called Ethel, who is brought into the home by a London cab driver who is shaking after becoming separated from her owner. The Battersea team attempt to reunite them.
