When three med students decide to play a risky game of flat-lining, one accidentally dies when his friend refuses to let his girlfriend revive him. When Alex asks Steve to investigate his disappearance when he fails to show up for classes, they get a surprise when Casey, a temporary pathologist finds the student in the lab with his blood drained. Realizing the student was murdered, Steve and Mark begin to investigate the two students who flat-lined with the deceased and eventually learn why his death occurred.
