City Under Siege (1) - Recap

Lillymon battles Myotismon, but she is no match. After being hit by his Nightmare Claw, she plummets to the ground, colorless. As Birdramon rescues Lillymon, Sora's mother tells her to escape. After promising to return, Sora jumps onto Birdramon, who then flies away.
Meanwhile, as Tai and Agumon leave Kari in the protection of Matt and Gabumon, Izzy receives an e-mail from Gennai. There is an attachment containing a Digital Barrier, so Izzy begins to download it. His parents soon come into his room, telling him to leave because the Bakemon are coming. However, he informs them that they're safer where they are, and Izzy's father convinces his mother to trust him. As Phantomon and the Bakemon break in, Izzy starts the barrier, making them invisible to enemy digimon. Elsewhere, the parents taken hostage are put into a trance by DemiDevimon, and Myotismon has Gatomon search through the children hostages to find the eighth child.
At the ferry dock, TK gets separated from his mother in the crowd but luckily runs into Joe. Gomamon digivolves, and TK's mother watches in horror as they ride Ikkakumon towards the fog. Back at Izzy's home, Gennai sends him a message revealing that the source of the fog barrier is at the TV station. With the evil digimon gone, he and Tentomon depart.
Elsewhere, Sora finds Tai and tells him that everyone is being kept at the convention center. Tai then tells her where Matt is, so she and Birdramon go to find him. Unknown to them, Phantomon overhears. As Izzy and Tentomon go to the TV station, Tai and Agumon sneak into the convention center.
Back in the water, Joe and TK see a MegaSeadramon destroying a bridge. Ikkakumon attacks, but the MegaSeadramon retaliates, knocking them all into the water. TK sinks, but Joe pulls him out and onto a wooden board. However, Joe submerges and loses consciousness. This causes Ikkakumon to digivolve into Zudomon! After rescuing Joe and defeating the evil digimon, Zudomon takes the trio through the fog barrier. Along the way, they find Wizardmon, who tells them that he must find Gatomon to give her the eighth child's tag and crest.
As Izzy is rescued in the TV station from Bakemon by Matt's father, Sora and Birdramon arrive at Matt's location. However, Phantomon appears and then summons Tuskmon and Snimon. Gabumon digivolves into Garurumon, and he and Birdramon fight them. However, Garurumon is defeated, and not even Garudamon is able to win. Phantomon then begins choking Matt, so Kari reveals that she is the eighth child and surrenders herself. After calling off his henchmen, Phantomon takes Kari!
