Recap

The gang, now reunited, nears the Forest Terminal, but they decide to rest for the rest of the day. Zoe comes across a "meat apple," which is flavored after different types of meats. While JP, Takuya, and Koji collect wood for a fire, Zoe, Tommy, Bokomon, and Neemon set off to find more of the apples, and they find a tree full of them. However, they are unknowingly being watched by a mysterious digimon.
That night, while trying to start a fire, Takuya questions why their combined strength wasn't enough to defeat Grumblemon, and Koji mentions that he was able to Beast Spirit Evolve. As the gang later roasts their apples over the fire, Takuya asks Bokomon if there's anything in his book about a Beast Spirit. Bokomon looks but can't anything, but Neemon then notices that a page is folded over. On the inside is a page about Beast Spirit Evolution, the second type of Spirit of the Legendary Warriors!
As they eat their meat apples, clouds cover the sky, and the trees trunks around them suddenly glow with video images of the Real World. Bokomon states that they're in TV Forest, the video gateway to the human world. Tommy then sees his mother in one of the trees, but the clouds part, ending the videos.
Later, when JP starts performing magic tricks for the gang, Tommy goes to roast another apple. However, a strange digimon then appears from behind a tree and uses its Nightmare Syndrome on Tommy! During his sleep that night, Tommy has a nightmare about the rest of the gang preventing him from getting to his mother. He then gets up and seems to be in a trance. Repeating "I won't forgive you" over and over again, he then grabs a stick and threatens to attack. However, he then Spirit Evolves in Kumamon. Tommy/Kumamon then begins attacking with his Crystal Freeze, claiming that he won't let them bully him anymore. As they run away, they see the mysterious digimon, so Koji Spirit Evolves. He uses his powers of light to illuminate the forest, allowing Takuya to find the digimon. Takuya does and then Spirit Evolves. While Koji/Lobomon fends off Tommy/Kumamon, Takuya/Agunimon manages to grab hold of Bakumon, but it gets away. Neemon asks Bokomon why the Bakumon is creating nightmares instead of eating them like he's supposed to, and Bokomon realizes that Cherubimon must have taken away Bakumon's power ring and turned him evil.
Meanwhile, Bakumon hits Takuya/Agunimon with his Nightmare Syndrome and tries to turn him against his friends. However, he breaks free of the nightmare and informs Tommy/Kumamon of what has happened to him, causing him to have doubts that Takuya/Agunimon is his enemy. Takuya/Agunimon then blasts Bakumon with flames, causing his fractal code to appear. He takes the code, freeing Tommy of the spell. However, Tommy has no memory of what happened. Bakumon, now good again and in possession of his power ring, apologizes and promises to only send them good dreams for now on.
That night, while everyone but Koji is asleep, Bakumon keeps his promise. However, Koji's D-Tector tells him that "Your Beast Spirit awaits, Koji Koji Minamoto, but first you have some growing to do."..
