Beastie Girl (1) - Recap

At the Legendary Warriors' hideout, Mercurymon and Ranamon watch on one of Mercurymon's mirrors as Grumblemon is destroyed. Ranamon says that it's up to them now and for him to find Arbormon. However, Mercurymon reveals that he knows that Ranamon is scared that she will end up like Grumblemon since she doesn't have a Beast Spirit. She then becomes furious. Later, while resting in her swimming pool, Ranamon decides to continue searching for her Beast Spirit. Using a strange computer, she looks at a map of all the places her minions have searched. To her surprise, she finds an island that her servants haven't been to.
Elsewhere, as Whamon drops the gang off on an island, a few Toucanmon that all happen to be in love with Ranamon overhear them mentioning a Beast Spirit, so they decide to try and take it to impress Ranamon. A little while later, Koji wants to continue on their mission, but the rest of the gang convinces him to take a break on the beautiful beach. They then see a shack named "Toucan Paradise" and investigate. At the restaurant, the gang reveals that they have no money, but the Toucanmon reply that everything is free. After telling a joke that annoys Bokomon, a Toucanmon say that there isn't anything that they won't do to make it up to them. Even though the food isn't tasty, the gang is happy that it's Real World food, instead of the strange food that they had been having.
After eating, the gang starts to leave, but the Toucanmon distract them by offering free beach rentals. As the boys go swimming, Bokomon and Neemon rest on the beach. Meanwhile, Zoe is in the dressing room looking at swimming suits. Some Toucanmon begin to enter as she begins changing, but when she realizes that someone is watching her, she screams. Takuya and JP run to the dressing room and are shocked to see her topless. She begins throwing stuff at them to get them out.
Zoe later explains that someone was watching her changing, and to JP's horror, everyone suspects him. However, Tommy reminds them that JP was swimming with them at the time. They then turn their suspicions to the Toucanmon. Unfortunately, the Toucanmon have disappeared, along with the gang's D-Tectors! Luckily they track the Toucanmon down, but when confronted, the Toucanmon run. To make matters worse, Ranamon then arrives!
Zoe, the only one with her D-Tector, Spirit Evolves and launches an attack. They seem evenly matched at first as their attacks cancel out each other's, but Ranamon then surrounds Zoe/Kazemon with water. However, she stops her attack after sensing a Beast Spirit. Ranamon swims to the bottom of the ocean, finding a sunken ship. Her Beast Spirit then flies out of the ship to her, and she Beast Spirit Evolves into Calmaramon, who resembles a giant, squid-like mermaid.
As the Toucanmon change their minds about Ranamon after seeing her in her hideous Beast Spirit form, Calmaramon attacks the defenseless gang. Zoe/Kazemon tries to fight her but is easily defeated with a single blow. She then prepares to destroy Zoe/Kazemon by spinning to create her Titanic Tempest. However, due to her inexperience in using a Beast Spirit, Calmaramon spins out of control and into the distance. The gang then follows the Toucanmon's trail.
