The gang floats down a river on a raft towards the Autumn Leaf Fair, hoping to find the Toucanmon there. Unknown to them, Arbormon is searching for the Toucanmon, and to make matters worse, the Toucanmon traded the D-Tectors for a camera!
The gang eventually arrives at the fair, which is dry land surrounded by an icy tundra. They then begin asking around about the Toucanmon. Tommy finds an electronic shop, and inside is a Datamon that is playing an arcade game. He loses and gets upset, so Tommy volunteers to beat it for him. When Tommy wins, a prize is dispensed. Datamon takes it and then opens his safe to put it inside. Tommy then sees that already in the safe are the D-Tectors! Unfortunately, Datamon doesn't believe Tommy's claims that the Toucanmon stole the D-Tectors from them. To Tommy's horror, Datamon then begins inspecting the D-Tectors and starts disassembling his. However, Datamon is interrupted by a telephone call from Arbormon, who is on the Toucanmon's island with two injured Toucanmon. He tells Datamon that he wants the Spirits. Although Datamon has no idea what he is talking about, he plays along. Afterwards, he goes back to disassembling Tommy's D-Tector and apparently breaks it! To see what the inside is supposed to look like, he then disassembles Takuya's, too! Tommy begs him to give them the D-Tectors so that they can save the world, and since Tommy won the prize for him, Datamon gives him an hour to find something to trade for them. Unable to find the gang, Tommy sets off to find something to trade by himself, and Neemon watches from a tree as he runs off.
As the other two Toucanmon are kicked off a Trailmon for not having a ticket, Koji and Takuya find JP eating tons of food. He points to a sign saying "Eat 30 plates and win an Amazing Prize!" and then explains that if the Toucanmon paid with the D-Tectors at the restaurant, then the prize may be one of them. To Koji and Takuya's surprise, Zoe is also participating. Neemon and Bokomon then arrive, revealing that Tommy left. Meanwhile, Tommy runs into the Toucanmon. They run off, but he gives chase. They drop the camera as the fall through ice, and Tommy realizes that the camera is what they traded the D-Tectors for. It records as he rescues them, but they then grab the camera and run off again!
Meanwhile, as he repairs Tommy's D-Tector, Datamon transfers the data from the prize Tommy won into it. A little while later, Arbormon arrives with a large bag. He dumps out the contents, revealing the Toucanmon and their camera. Arbormon demands that he trade back the D-Tectors for the camera, so Datamon inspects the camera. He sees Tommy rescuing the Toucanmon, so he refuses to trade. Angry, Arbormon Beast Spirit Evolves into Petaldramon. After Petaldramon destroys his store, Datamon attacks. However, his attacks are useless, and Petaldramon easily defeats him.
Tommy, Koji, Takuya, Neemon, and Bokomon see the destruction and come to the rescue. As Koji and Takuya fend off Petaldramon, Tommy checks on Datamon, who gives him back his D-Tector because he truly deserves it. Datamon also states that he added something extra to it, and when Tommy looks, he finds his Beast Spirit inside!
Tommy Beast Spirit Evolves into Korikakumon and battles Petaldramon. Tommy/Korikakumon has the upper hand at first, but because he can't yet fully control his Beast Spirit, he soon finds himself in danger. Datamon gives Koji and Takuya their D-Tectors, so they Spirit Evolve and save Tommy/Korikakumon. Using his Frozen Arrowheads, Tommy/Korikakumon then sends Petaldramon sliding along the ice into the distance.
Later, Ophanimon communicates with the gang through their D-Tectors. When they state that Seraphimon is now a digi-egg, she reveals that she already knows. She then offers them the chance to go home, but when they decline, she begins giving them new directions. However, her transmission is cut short, only getting out "Head for the Rose Morning Star, and then..." Bokomon then sees the Rose Morning Star in the sky in the distance, and Zoe reveals that her prize for the eating contest is Trailmon tickets.
