Recap

The digimon that destroyed Arbormon reveals that he is Duskmon, the Legendary Warrior of Darkness. He then swings his sword, sending a powerful energy wave at the gang. They manage to dodge it, but it creates a big explosion. Confident from already defeating two Legendary Warriors, the gang attacks him. However, their attacks are useless against him, and he takes out Takuya/BurningGreymon with one blow! He taunts them, making Takuya/BurningGreymon angry. Takuya/BurningGreymon gets up and surrounds Duskmon with a Wildfire Tsunami, and Koji/Lobomon orders them to retreat.
Later, as they walk through the Dark Continent, Takuya expresses his confidence that he defeated Duskmon, but Koji has his doubts. Takuya then blames Koji for Duskmon surviving, since he told them to retreat. Koji then criticizes him for rushing into the fight instead of fighting as a team. However, Bokomon manages to change the subject.
Later, as JP starts a campfire, Zoe reveals that she's worried about Takuya and Koji. However, he explains to her that their conflicting personalities bring balance to the team. Elsewhere, Duskmon is searching for them.
After the gang collects food and water, Takuya reveals his master plan for defeating Duskmon..."attack all at once." They have their doubts, but he uses dolls made by Tommy to explain the attack strategy. However, Koji doesn't want to fight Duskmon, so he and Takuya take a walk to talk. Koji reminds him that it all isn't a game, and if they don't succeed against Duskmon, it's all over. Takuya states that they're stronger together than he thinks, but Koji tells him that he won't let him risk the others' lives. The ground begins shaking, and they realize that Duskmon is there.
As JP, Zoe, and Tommy Beast Spirit Evolve, Takuya and Koji race back to the camp. Koji Beast Spirit Evolves, and Takuya Spirit Evolves. They manage to make it back in time and initiate the plan. Takuya/Agunimon grabs hold of Duskmon while the others surround him and attack at once. Takuya/Agunimon jumps out of the way, but Duskmon merely absorbs their attacks! He then swings his sword to kill Takuya/Agunimon, but Koji/KendoGarurumon takes the blow and reverts back to Koji. Takuya/Agunimon cries out Koji's name. Duskmon seems to recognize it and then suddenly becomes confused about what is going on. Darkness is emitted by Duskmon, and it engulfs them all.
Takuya wakes up in complete darkness and is told that he is in the Dark Terminal, the end of the line. The darkness disappears and reveals a train station, and he is offered the chance to go home. Upset about what happened to Koji, Takuya boards the train, and it leaves the station...
