While reading an Ellery Queen novel, a fountain pen heiress begins having all the experiences as a character in the book such as having an overwhelming urge to jump off the balcony. Soon afterwards, she's found dead at the bottom of the balcony. Did she jump or was she pushed?

Jack Kelly is best known for his role as gambler Bart Maverick on the classic 1957-62 ABC western Maverick.

Craig Stevens' best known for playing the title role in the private eye TV series Peter Gunn.

Susan Strasberg was the daughter of famed acting guru Lee Strasberg.

Anne Francis' best known TV role is the female private eye Honey West.

Evelyn Chandler is listening to Abbott and Costello on the radio at the beginning of the episode.

Jack Kelly and Anne Francis had previously co-starred together in the classic 1956 sci-fi film Forbidden Planet.
