Louis is picked on by a new bully in shop class, and gets locked in a hutch (hence his nickname "Hutch boy"). Tom uses his impressive karate skills to come to Louis's rescue, which impresses Louis, who wants to learn karate like Tom.
Ruby accidentally dyes Ren's hair blond, which Ren at first is upset with. However she soon adapts to her new hair, but then gives the blonds a bad reputation.

This is a less-obvious reference to the World Wrestling Federation, used by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Steve Austin uses the phrase "open up a can of whoop-ass" but this is in appropriate for Disney Channel.

Louis is quoting the fan-favorite wrestler The Rock. One of his trademarks was saying "...if you SMELLLLLLLL what The Rock is cookin'!"
