Released On: July 27, 2004 Region: 1 Production Company: Starmaker II
Description: In this witty retelling of the classic fairy tale, things aren't so going so well for Jack and his mother. Money, food--and now the family cow-have pretty much dried up. To top it all off, Jack's always been a bit of a dreamer, so when a stranger offers him five magic beans for the cow, he considers it a good deal...
The next thing he knows, a huge beanstalk has taken root in his front yard. It's a good thing Jack isn't afraid of heights, because what he finds when he climbs it basically blows his mind!
In a castle full of bags of gold, singing harps and hens that lay golden eggs live a not-so-swift Giant (M*A*S*H's Elliot Gould) and his Giantess wife (All In The Family's Jean Stapleton) who don't take kindly to those smaller than them. It's a good thing he already had his head in the clouds, because Jack's now got to use it to get home safely.
