Fatal Confession (Nov/30/1987)
Tom Bosley and Tracy Nelson appear in the two-part television movie that launched the popular mystery series. Bosley plays Father Dowling, a parish priest who has a knack for solving crimes. At his side is co-worker Sister Steve, a street-smart schemer who is a match for any criminal. The case at hand finds Father Dowling and Sister Steve investigating the apparent suicide of a former parishioner. In between saying Mass, hearing confessions and managing the softball team, Father Dowling somehow finds time to conduct his own investigation and he is quite certain his friend was murdered. At the heart of the case is a powerful senator and the widow of a notorious crime boss.
