ABC wanted Getting By to head up a new Saturday night lineup. The producers balked at the idea as Saturday was known for low ratings. NBC offered the series a Monday timeslot following The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Blossom. The series moved and eventually end up in the Saturday timeslot it sought to avoid.

No. This series has no link to Family Matters.
| Where has the building shown as the school from?
The building shown as Bradley High School also served as the high school for Family Matters, Hangin With Mr. Cooper and Sister, Sister.
