In Germany Ian tries to retrieve some plans for nuclear attacks before the Russians track them down first. However some renegade German soldiers get in his way, refusing to give up on their helpless cause. In London when his days in naval intelligence slowly wrap up, he begins writing as a way to channel his imagination.
