Episode Summary

Sergeant Carter has built up some vacation time and is readying for a trip to Hawaii to visit an old friend. But first he wants all his recruits to earn their PFC ranking. Gomer, uninterested in the promotion, fails the test. A mistake has Gomer believing that sarge is leaving for Hawaii to quit the marines and must work overtime studying to pass the test to keep Sgt. Carter at the base.
