Ernie Lapidus is a former con artist who has married into a family of morticians, and is now running roughshod over the family business, The Sincerity Mortuary in Dacron, Ohio. Warren, the straight-laced brother-in-law is having a hard time stomaching Ernie's ideas, which includes advertising in bad taste. Ernie's wife Debbie spends most of her time trying to keep peace between the two.
