Good vs. Evil tells the tale of the Corps, souls lost halfway between Heaven and Hell who have the chance to redeem themselves by fighting the Morlocks, demonic agents. The Morlocks offer humans Faustian deals. The humans get what they want: the Morlocks get their souls when they die, and new Morlocks. The Corps has to get the Faustian deal-maker to repent, and kill them if they don't. To kill a Morlock, a weapon soaked in the blood of a martyr is needed. And... that's it. No supernatural powers. If you die, that's it.

The newest Corps recruit is Chandler Smythe, a reporter who is killed by a Morlock in an alleyway on his birthday. The Corps recruit him and give him a choice: work for the Corps or exist in Purgatory until a final decision is made on his soul. Chandler takes the deal and is partnered with Henry McNeil, a hip 70s African-American who fights the Morlocks with style.

Chandler and Henry's immediate superiors are Ford and Decker, who don't always approve of what they do. And meanwhile, despite a ban on Corps members contacting their families, Chandler isn't ready to abandon his son Ben. But Henry and Chandler get the job done, and that's what counts.
