Jimmy and his talking flute Freddy have been led to Living Island by the evil Witchiepoo who wants the magical musical instrument for herself. Pufnstuf tries to help but she'll do anything, including destroying the Magic Path that could lead the boy home, to have it.
Jimmy's putting on a talent show to raise money to buy a pogo stick that may be able to take him home, but Witchiepoo, Orson and Seymour plan to crash it.
Witchiepoo's manages to steal Freddy by hiding in a giant cake, so it's up to Jimmy, Puf and Judy Frog to raid the witch's castle and rescue the flute.
While visiting Dr. Blinky, in disguise, to have her tooth pulled, Witchiepoo is exposed to a love potion. Then when she invites everyone to a party, Puf thinks this is a perfect opportunity for Jimmy to use the witch's Vroom Broom to get home.
Jimmy's got amnesia after a bump on the head and Dr. Blinky and Witchiepoo are both trying to restore him memory by reminding him of the good times they had.
