Kat Stanton is a young Australian woman is returning home from London. During the trip, she makes friends with a photographer. During a stop in Thailand, he persuades her to carry some luggage through customs for him. Kat doesn't know the luggage contains drugs. She is arrested and sent to the Bangkok Hilton, a notorious Thai prison. During her stay, she befriends Mandy, a woman who has been sentenced to death. On the outside, her father and a lawyer fight to regain Kat's freedom.
