Hopalong Cassidy

Hopalong Cassidy

At first this series featured edited version of Hopalong Cassidy movies with added narration and a few newly filmed scenes, but eventually brand new episodes were created solely for television. Atop his steed Topper, Hopalong and his sidekick, Red Connors, chased the bad guys in the old West. William Boyd reprised his role as Hoppy with Edgar Buchanan co-starring as Red.

Final: 2x27 -- Sinister Journey (May/04/1952)

Hoppy's friend, who never got along with his father-in-law, is accused of the man's murder. Hoppy visits a friend's sick wife and discovers that someone has poisoned her. The woman's father owns the local railroad, and a plot has been hatched by two of his employees to swindle him out of land and money. The father is murdered, and the two thieves try to pin it on Hoppy's friend, who was definitely known to be in disfavour with his in-law.
