Carlos, the Most Wanted Man in the World - Recap

Llich Ramirez Sanchez’s (Carlos) terrorist activities are chronicled. Nimoy starts the show about what happened in Vienna. How members of Opec and numerous other people were held hostage by Felix Ramirez Sanchez. Nimoy mentions that Carlos was trained by KGB agents in Moscow. Although Carlos’s operation goes smoothly, INF German agents are tipped off about the situation and come to intervene. Nimoy says he has a total of sixty two people hostage.

A psychiatrist Frederick Hacker is interviewed and gives his opinion on Carlos. Bruno Kriesky the Austrian Chancellor is briefly interviewed. Other high profiled officials are interviewed saying Carlos was a high profiled terrorist.. Nimoy says when Carlos became a millionare his terrorist friends became angry with him. Then actual video of the 1975 Opec incident is shown briefly. Nimoy then says Interpol has linked Carlos to a bunch of criminal incidents in international terrorism. Carlos’s full name is also released as Ilich Ramirez Sanchez. More real life video is shown to uncover Carlos’s past. This time we see video of Sanchez’s father, Dr. Sanchez. Nimoy says Sanchez lived of the money of his father. Nimoy explains that Carlos was then sent to Moscow. In Moscow, Carlos studied terrorism then was linked to attacks in Palestine. Nimoy says as Carlos profited of his attacks he slept around with lots of women using them as safe haven.

Eventually many of these women serve time for helping Carlos. Nimoy ends the episode by
discussing the escalation of terrorism all over the world and how anti-terrorism are being made to combat these attacks.
