Episode Notes
Near the end of the episode Nimoy says that not one dollar has been traced back to the Cooper skyjacking. However, in February 10, 1980, a boy named Brian Ingram found $5,800 of the stolen money while digging in Washington. The rest of the money is still missing.
This episode also serves as a classic example of the lack of airport security during the time which led to hijackings like these. If Cooper's briefcase and bag had been searched, security might have found the bomb he had.
Also the question of the authenticity of this being a real bomb is something that also isn't given a lot of time in the episode. Nowadays, security is aware of fake bomb threats being made to extort people out of money. The validity of Cooper's "bomb" then is something that also is part of the debate.
