| Great episode that tells you what the media about this case

!!!!!! This review contains spoilers !!!!!!
The case of the famous Lindberg baby is covered showing that the evidence against so called killer Bruno Richard Hauptmann was weak.
A really thought provoking episode might have been the most ambitious one of the series. If you think you know everything about the Lindberg baby, this episode is living proof that there is more to it than what the media disclosed.
The Lindberg baby was the child of famous pilot Charles A. Lindberg. The baby was murdered and a suspect was found Bruno Hauptmann. However, as the episode goes in lengthy detail the evidence against Hauptmann was very circumstantial and at best the case should have resulted in reasonable doubt not the death of Hauptmann.
Hauptmann was caught with half the ransom baby for the Lindberg baby. However, aside from the ransom money the authorities didn't seem to really provide conclusive evidence that Hauptmann was the murderer.
Nimoy explains that two of the witnesses during the trial, one old man (who was legally blind) and another man (who would later changed his testimony against Hauptmann) were admissable. Then Charles Lindberg later testified against Hauptmann based on two words that Hauptmann allegedly said two years before that "Hey Doctor". Very circumstantial evidence. Hauptmann himself never confessed to the crime and maintained his innocence till the end despite repeated attempts by the authorities to do that.
While it's clear that Hauptmann was involved in the kidnapping of the Lindberg baby, the evidence proving he was the murderer is shaky at best. Over the years though TV movies starring such great as Anthony Hopkins and Stephen Rea in "Crime of the Century".
