Episode Quotes
Ironside: Barbara, there's only one way to deal with kidnappers: you go along with them, tell them you'll pay the money, make all the arrangements, and at the same time make every effort to find out who they are and where the child is. Now that takes manpower and manpower we don't have.
Barbara Jones: Bob, please, please.
Ironside: Barbara, the last thing I want to do is to hurt you. But I'm a police officer with knowledge of a crime and I have to report that crime. If you want me to leave after...
Barbara Jones: I suppose you'll do what you think is best, whatever I say.

Sheriff Bud Metcalfe: Ironside. You don't think much of me, do ya?
Ironside: Let's say I don't think much of your methods.
Sheriff Bud Metcalfe: Man's got to get the best he can with what he's got and try and survive. You don't know this country. Look out yonder, what do you see? Mountains, valleys, canyons.
Ironside: What do you see?
Sheriff Bud Metcalfe: Used to see people, little people, like me. Calling me everyday with problems. Every time those problems get to be like mud in the spring rain, it gets to stickin' to ya, your hands, fingers, ya feel it between your teeth. Man gets all tired of it. He's got to get out of that mud.
Ironside: Get out if you like, but do you really want to do it on the back of a kidnapped child?
