Episode Quotes
Ernestine Mugford: That was Madame Duvalier, wasn't it? She's a charming creature, I like her.
Ironside: There's a difference between detecting and snooping, Ernestine.
Ernestine Mugford: We're both involved in solving a mystery. I wonder what your mystery is, Bob. You haven't been to Montreal for twenty years and suddenly a woman appears, a woman not forgotten. She must make quite an impression.
Ironside: At times, Ernestine, your candor is appalling.
Ernestine Mugford: Darling, my candor is frequently appalling, but at my age nobody takes any notice anymore.
Ironside: Oh I wouldn't say that.

Frank Rousseau: Bob, how do we know this man is from out of town?
Ironside: I think this killing ties in with the National Bank robbery. Even the underworld doesn't know who pulled that job and that means the thieves had to be novices. No records, no friends, no connections. If they have to kill somebody to protect themselves, they wouldn't touch the underworld pool here. It would be too risky, they'd go out of town.
Ernestine Mugford: Marvelous.
Frank Rousseau: Bob, they only found out about Gautier after he checked into Montreal. so how could they put in a paid killer from out-of-town on such a short notice?
Ironside: They wouldn't have to if he was already here on another job for them.
Frank Rousseau: Of course! The man who is trying to sell the Vaughan-Bassett.
Ironside: Why not. He's the main threat to the gang right now. We grab him, we grab them all.
Ernestine Mugford: You're magnificent, Bob.
Ironside: That's true.
