They were not allowed to kill humans or "embrace" them without the permission of the human.

Julian Luna allowed his lover, Caitlin Byrne, know that he was a Kinded! He only allowed it for a brief period, but he was actually guilty of breaking The Masquerade! This was so ironic, as Julian had always been so hard on other Kindred about never doing the very same act!
