Episode Notes
Don Weis directs his first of four episodes with "The Vampire". The others were #6 "Fire Fall", #14 "The Trevi Collection", and #16 "Demon In Lace".

Both the opening narration and the connection between the episode's vampire and Las Vegas, manage to link the series with the original TV movie.

Episode Quotes
Carl: (opening narration) They were tearing up an old road to lay more freeway a few miles south of Las Vegas. The state of Nevada's Department of Highway's digging would be a help to thousands of motorists. But to one other person, it would turn out to be a nightmare.

Carl: (discussing his boss, Tony Vincenzo, with another reporter) You should meet my boss. He'd turn Buddha into a chain-smoker!

Tony: (to Carl) I'm tired of it, Kolchak, I am fed up! I've got a brother-in-law who's got a fourteen year old kid he's always bailing out of juvenile hall, but I've got you and you are worse!

Carl: (about Catherine Rawlins) Arrested several times for prostitution, she’d disappeared late in 1970. Two things were clear: she was no longer missing, nor could she now be considered a person.

Carl: (narrating) Ichabod thought he had added another filly to his stable of trotters. In Ichabod’s parlance, his new acquisition was called a fox. He had no way of knowing she was actually more closely related to the bat.
