Dan Troop, Marshal, played by John Russell
Dan Troop hails from Abilene where he served as a law officer. He has a well established reputation for being highly skilled with a gun.
Dan worked in a hash house when he was a youth. In the past, he was fond of someone who was killed by a stray bullet during a gunfight.
When the series opens, Troop is a mature man of few words, great courage, great physical strength, and unwavering resolve. He is a serious man -- perhaps too serious for some -- yet he defends the right and is a highly moral man. He has a fatherly love and regard for his youthful deputy Johnny McKay, often thinking of his welfare before his own. |
