After Apache Indian Sam Buckhart saves a cavalry officer's life, the officer repays the debt by financing Buckhart's education back east. Buckhart then returns to New Mexico to work as a deputy marshal serving the law. Michael Ansara starred as Buckhart in this series which was a spin-off from The Rifleman.
