Legend

Ernest Pratt (Richard Dean Anderson) is a pulp writer in the Old West. He spins the tales of the heroic and virtuous Nicodemus Legend, gentleman adventurer who uses state-of-the-art scientific gadgets to fight evil. However, Pratt himself is a drunk and a gambler who'd rather run than fight. Unfortunately, nobody else knows that. When Pratt himself is roped into helping a town, he turns to Professor Janos Bartok (John de Lancie), a Hungarian scientist who believes in the legend of Nicodemus Legend. He provides Pratt with the gadgetry he needs to fight crime, and Pratt soon finds himself unwillingly become the very hero he created.
