The show begins as two fresh out of high school graduates, Laz and Fred, get out there and find jobs a "Yippee, Hot Dogs", a small hotdog joint in a local mall food court. The buisiness is run by nasty-attituded Mr. Hut. When Mr. Hut is found yelling at Laz, Fred decides to stand up to him. Meanwhile, at home, Laz's parents allow her to live there rent free as long as she remains a positive influence on her younger sister.
