Episode Quotes
Khadijah: (to Roni and Tripp) For the love of God! Would you just take your thimble over to one of my hotels and get it on already?

Synclaire: Marco, you'd do that for me? How unselfish. How generous. You're not trying to get in my drawers, are you?

Overton: Either we're having flash flood warnings, or my baby's about to launch into my favorite character. Well, my favorite vertical character anyhow.

Max: (to Khadijah) I need somebody. You've got Scooter. Overton and Synclaire, they've got each other. Even the diva midget went out and found somebody.

Synclaire: Obie, Marco stole my act!
Overton: Yeah, and by the looks of things, he took one of my belts, too.

Synclaire: Great show, Marco. I really connected with the material. Now I'm gonna connect with your two-faced, character-stealing ass!

Max: I was searching for fulfillment and something in my gut told me this was it.
Khadijah: That's your problem! Always thinking with your stomach!

Joyce: (to Marco) You said you weren't working, but here you are, dishing out the garbage. (to Synclaire) I'm so sorry. I'm sure it's much better when you do it.

Cultural References
Phil: Phil has a plan. And if I do say so myself, it is diabolique.
Overton: (to Synclaire) Diabolique? Boy got a little Joan Crawford in him.

A reference to the legendary actress, whose career especially thrived in the 1930s and 1940s.

Episode Title: To Catch a Thief

This episode shares its title with the 1955 film starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly.

Phil: I'm sure you've heard of her. Television's Joyce DeWitt?
Overton: From the classic small-screen farce Three's Company? Oh man. I was only twelve, but I knew Janet had it going on!

A reference to guest star Joyce DeWitt's famous role as flower shop worker Janet Wood on the 1970s-1980s ABC sitcom.

Episode References
Overton: Talk about tears of a...clown.

Overton stumbles over his words and twitches at the mere mention of the word "clown," a reference to his clown phobia, previously discussed in "Shrink to Fit" and "The Clown That Roared."
