Living Single

Show Slang
Ah, suki suki now!:
This is a phrase used by Regine to express extreme surprise, such as when a burglar was rummaging around downstairs in the apartment; or when Khadijah's grandmother made a suggestive comment about her new boyfriend. It is taken from "Groove Me," a 1971 hit by R&B singer King Floyd.
This is Regine's preferred expression for use when saying goodbye, beginning in the very first episode when she gets into the elevator at Flavor after dropping by to gloat to her roommates about her new boyfriend.
This is an expression used by Synclaire to comfort another character when he or she is upset about something. Although some believe it was derived from Jeffrey Osborne's hit 1980s song "You Should Be Mine" (in which he sings, "Can you woo-woo-woo?"), Kim Coles explained that it was actually an expression used by her mother throughout her childhood.
