The series was based on the books by Dorothy L Sayers. British nobleman Lord Peter Wimsey, an amateur detective, would try and solve various different crimes. Ian Carmichael starred as Lord Peter. The series aired in the United States as installments of the long-running PBS anthology series Masterpiece Theatre.
