Major West: C'mon, Smith, you're supposed to be helping!
Doctor Smith: My presence here is quite help enough, Major! You know that my delicate back does not permit me to engage in manual labor.
Major West: He's probably had some kind of an accident.
Doctor Smith: From the look of him, he's had more than one accident!
First Circuit Computer Control Court Judge: After a fair and impartial digital survey of all the evidence, the members of the jury have reached a verdict, and found you both guilty as charged.
Doctor Smith: Major - I'm going to faint!
Warden: (looking at Doctor Smith) Yessiree! Just as I thought - a classic criminal profile!
Creech: If you're thinking about parole, forget it! There are no paroles on Destructon!
Major West: How can you exist without hope?
Creech: Who said anything about not having any hope? There's always hope for prisoners brave enough to try and escape.
Doctor Smith: Escape? What an interesting idea. You have a plan, of course?
Creech: I always have a plan.
Doctor Smith: I should like very much to hear it.
Robot: It is called a three layer chocolate maple surprise. I was going to bake an angel food cake, but I did not think it appropriate for Doctor Smith.
Robot: My computers indicate they are innocent.
Warden: You're correct. Very plainly, and very simply, your friends were framed.
Will: Well, then what reason would there be for sending them to prison?
Warden: Oh, not sending them to prison... having them escape from prison. We need some valuable information from Creech, the prisoner that we have them locked up with.
An area of Destructon is named The Devil's Quadrant. This name is a nod to Devil's Island, an infamous French penal colony that operated between 1852 and 1946. Many sent there never returned, but it wasn't until Alfred Dreyfus, wrongfully convicted, was sent there in 1895 that the world became generally aware of the terrible conditions there.
