* Table saw to shoot pieces of lumber and shop vac to blow sawdust as a distraction
* Soda pop poured over dry ice, pop rocks added, to simulate smoke from a fire
* A length of pole on string, placed on stairs and rigged to be pulled up so someone trips over it
* Camphor balls and cleaner fluid as propellant, telescope and a metal spike as a makeshift cannon to fire the spike over a fence, pulleys to cross over on the cable attached to the spike
