Strike up the theme song: "Magnum P.I." is leaping to the big screen. The popular CBS show ran from 1980 to 1988 and made Tom Selleck, aka Thomas Magnum, a superstar.

Now, Rawson Marshall Thurbur is writing and will also direct a big screen version of the popular show for Universal Pictures
