Godai has entered the student teaching phase of his college experience and, thanks to grandfather Otonashi's influence, he ends up at the same High School where Kyoko met Soichiro!

Student - Teacher Relationships

While not illegal as in many Western Cultures, student / teacher relationships are frowned on in Japanese high schools. However it is important to note that Japan does not have the age restrictions on relationships the way many other countries do. A teenage and an adult can date there, however student / teacher relations are considered a distraction and will usually end up with the teacher in question getting fired.

That doesn't stop the romantic fantasy however and many comics and fiction often use this premise as a 'forbidden love' plot device.
