Mann & Machine

Created by Dick Wolf and Robert De Laurentis, Mann & Machine is set in the near future (references within the series indicate a time frame between 1998 and 2009) when police duty is being augmented by robot patrolmen, though the robots aren't very sophisticated. Then along comes Sergeant Eve Edison (Yancy Butler), a prototype for a new AI robot, and she's being field-tested as the partner for Detective Bobby Mann (David Andrews), who dislikes robots, but comes to like Eve. Captain Maragaret Claghorn (S. Epatha Merkerson) is Bobby and Eve's boss. -- a role almost identical to that which Merkerson would later play on Wolf's Law & Order series.
