Bart Maverick, played by Jack Kelly (1)
Gambler who lives by his wits during the days of the Old West. Brother of Bret and Brent Maverick. Believed to be the oldest of the Maverick brothers. Refers to Bret as "Brother Bret." Friends with notorious gambler/gunfighter Doc Holliday. Father is Beauregard "Pappy" Maverick but Bart bears an eerily strong resemblance to his uncle, Bentley Maverick, so there's a chance that another mule was kicking in his mother's stall at the time of Bart's conception. Generally more conservative than his brother Bret but at times appears to be the smarter of the two as Bret frequently has to recruit him to get out of jams and make things turn out okay. In the 1981revival series "Bret Maverick" it's mentioned that Bart is working in the oil business in Oklahoma although he turned up in Sweetwater, Arizona, the setting of "Bret Maverick", in that show's final episode. |
