Bart gets involved with two potentially lethal lovelies. One wants to murder for his love. The other just wants to murder him. It all begins for our hero when he breaks his leg after his horse is spooked by a cougar and is taken in by a rancher with a bored and overly amorous wife.

This episode is a straight dramatic episode with almost no elements of comedy. As the series progressed, Jack Kelly tended to get the most of the solo scripts that were dramatic in nature with the more comic ones going to James Garner.
| Kitty Stillman definitely ranks as one of the most psychotic females either Maverick brother encountered in the series.

Analysis |
| |
One of the grimmest episodes of the series. There's no real happy ending. Just Bart riding out of town after narrowly averting get strung up at the hands of a lynch mob. All due to the machinations of an unhinged damsel. The script here isn't bad it's just not your typical Maverick fare. Perhaps it was originally meant for another Warner Brothers series like Cheyenne or Bronco.
