Episode Quotes
Pappyism: Never cry over spilled milk. It could have been whiskey.
Bart: I was doing the only thing that should ever be done with money--spending it.
Bret: Brother Bart, didn't your long association with Dandy Jim Buckley or Samantha Crawford teach you anything?
Contessa: Bart, the pearls are imitations. They are worthless.
Bart: Not to the jeweler in Denver.
Bart: (to Murdock) Just a minute. Those pearls have been in the family since--today.
Baron: I would not have anything to do with guns. It is against the law.
Contessa: Those pearls are ours. Remember?
Bart: That's funny. I've got a bill of sale that says they belong to me.
Contessa: May I sit next to you?
Bret: It might be easier for you that way.
Contessa: You need not worry about me any longer.
Bret: That'd be nice.
Bret: (to the Contessa) I thought you were out looking for school marm work.
Bret: Did I ask how she got $10,000 out of you?
Bart: Yes, you did.
Analysis
Another shifty female, played by Roxane Berard, gives both Maverick brothers major headaches in this episode. Once again, it's a grand pairing of James Garner and Jack Kelly and shouldn't be missed.
