Pappyism #1: If you can't fight 'em and they won't let you join 'em, you best get out of the county. |
Pappyism #2: Man is the only animal that can get skinned twice.
Note: This is a recycled Pappyism from According to Hoyle. |
Hadley: (about Evans) These young folks never seem to calculate the wages of sin. |
Pender: (to Bart) Around this town, stranger, court is just about anyplace Hadley makes it law. |
Pender: (about Hadley) He's cleaned up crime.
Bart: Even if he had to bring it along with him? |
Pender: A gambler! Did you ever play poker?
Bart: Well, I've yielded to that temptation. |
Copes: Would you give me your name?
Bart: Maverick, with one "ick." |
Bart: (about Hadley) Has anyone weighed his brain lately? |
Copes: A maverick is a cow with no mother or father.
Bart: (grabs Copes) A remark, sir, that could send a man picking up his teeth with a rake. |
Bart: (about Evans) But, Sheriff, I haven't the slightest idea where he is.
Hadley: You'd better have. There's an area between your chin and your chest that depends on it. |
Evans: There's the bounty hunters followin' your trail.
Bart: They weren't supposed to start until tomorrow morning.
Evans: Well, Hadley has his own set of rules. |
Pender: (to Bart) If you're plannin' for the future, we ain't got a harp in the place. |
