Episode Notes |
| |
Hound Dog, Tennessee ranks right up there for the most unusual name of a town in the entire series. | Anita Sands definitely ranks as one of the hottest babes of the series. She would return in Family Pride. | In this episode, Bart proves he's not very good at handling his liquor. |

Episode Quotes |

Pappyism: A man can stay outta trouble if he learns to do something with his hands. | Zack: You wouldn't by chance be a workin' gambler?
Bart: Oh, no. I just took it up recently--for a hobby. | Bart: Poker is a dangerous game, Zack. You've got to be willing to lose once in a while. | Nancy: I'm sorry you took sick but I reckon it's your own fault for likin' cards better than courtin'. | Bart: Luke boy, for a scientific mind, you sure do some unexperimental thinkin'. | Nancy: (from a tree) Now that you found me, whadda you aim to do?
Bart: Well, I'm too tired to climb trees. | Bart: (to Nancy) Your imagination is just too big to fit in the city. |

It's implied in the episode that the Smokey Mountains are only a short distance from Memphis when in reality they are on the other end of the state of Tennessee. |

One wonders whether or not the name of the town in this episode was inspired by the popular rock and roll song by Elvis Presley entitled Hound Dog. |

Analysis |

Pretty average episode here although we do get a nice turn from Warner Brothers posse member Wayde Preston as a country doctor and Anita Sands makes for great eye candy. One also gets the feeling that this one would have worked better had James Garner been in it. |
