A great show of the 1970's genre. Dennis Weaver is Marshal Sam McCloud of Taos, New Mexico. He goes to New York City on an Intercity Exchange Program in learning law and order. In the process, he gives New York City a lesson in frontier justice(being from out west) and different theories of law to the cantankerous Chief Peter B. Clifford and Sgt. Joe Broadhurst.
The series was loosely based on the 1968 film "Coogan's Bluff" which was about a Western lawman in New York City.
The series was part of The 4 and 1(1970-1971), NBC Mystery Movie(1971-1972) and The NBC Sunday Night Mystery Movie(1972-1977) "wheel" series
