Rock Hudson and Susan Saint James starred in this mystery series as San Francisco Police Commissioner Stewart "Mac" McMillan and his wife, Sally. The series aired as part of the NBC Mystery Movie trilogy along with Columbo and McCloud. After the show's fifth season, Susan Saint James departed the series. Her character was written off as having died in a plane crash and Hudson went it alone in the final season which was re-titled McMillan.
