Mission La Roca (1) - Recap

As Miles McCabe decides to head to a church to help some patients, Eva decides to go to the main hospital for more help in this relieve effort. Suddenly, an earthquake occurs, trapping Dr. Durant and several patients in the little clinic. Back in the United States, the NIH lost contact with their team members and decide to sent more people in. Frank goes to Stephen Connor to get ready for the trip.

Frank finds Connor in a hotel room, apparently drunk. Connor then tells Frank about how this job has destroyed his life. Connor's son wrote his father a letter asking why he spends so much time with "strangers" and yet so little time with his family. Connor tells Frank that he wants to quit the NIH so he can make up those lost time. But when Frank tells them that they lost all contact with his team, they head to the NIH headquarter immediately.

Dr. Kate Ewing briefs the teams that they are going to that small Mexican town to help out with the relief efforts. Ewing tells everyone that no one is to go to the North due to terrorist threats. When they arrive, Connor decides to go inside the broken down clinic to find his team.

Meanwhile at the church of Mission La Roca, Miles McCabe treats a wounded priest while trapped inside a torn down church due to the earthquake. Two teenagers and a medical assistant is also there with him. Miles wants to use a sword a teenager has, but the teen refuses. The other teen then collapse due to a bullet wound. Miles suspects that he may also be infected with the disease.

Eva was out in her car when the earthquake occurred. She walks to the hospital and also pick up a little boy along the road. The little boy was found at a bus accident and he was the only one that is alive.

Connor finds Natalie and a pregnant woman in the torn down clinic and ship the woman to the hospital. The team reunites with Eva, but Miles is still out there. Stephen and Frank decide to go out and look for Miles as Eva and Natalie stay behind to help out in the hospital.

After finding out that Miles was last seen in Mission La Roca, Connor and Frank decide to drive towards that church. However, they are road blocked when they encounter several insurrectionists. They decide to take Stephen and Frank hostage. It turns out that one of the insurrectionists lost two sons. The two sons were presumably looking for a doctor. Stephen tells him that the boys may be with Dr. Miles McCabe, so they all set out to Mission La Roca to find them.

Back at the hospital, Eva is having a tough time getting through the little boy he picked up. Natalie tells her it's normal for someone to be in a state of shock after such incident. When Eva goes to check on the boy, he's gone from his room. Eva thinks he probably went back to the village and decides to go after him. Meanwhile, the pregnant woman is having contractions and may need a C-Section pretty soon. Neither Dr. Durant or Dr. Ewing had done a C-Section in years.

Stephen, Frank, and the rest arrive at the church and start to dig through the broken down church to get to the survivors. While digging through the pile, another earthquake occurs. Everyone got out of the church in time except for Stephen, who got trapped inside while the church crumbles…
